Barth Clinic
Treatment with Dignity and Respect
Washington State Certified Treatment Center for Alcohol and Drug Abuse
![]()
Barth Clinic is a private outpatient alcohol and drug treatment clinic established by Harry and Gwen Barth. Barth Clinic is dedicated to the belief that chemical dependency (alcoholism and other drug addictions) is a disease which is primary, progressive and chronic. Chemical dependency affects all aspects of our society. Families suffer, job performance deteriorates, both physical and mental health are impacted, and alcohol/drug related crime runs rampant. The Barths have over 25 years experience treating people with alcohol and/or drug problems and their families.
Barth Clinic subscribes to the philosophy that persons suffering from chemical dependency deserve to be treated with the same degree of dignity and respect offered to those suffering from other serious health problems. These diseases continue to be highly stigmatized conditions. The guilt and shame of the sufferer, whether real or imagined, is a major barrier to access to care. We have found our patients respond very favorably when they are given respect and the opportunity to improve their lives.
The course of the disease of chemical dependency may be arrested. The goal of treatment is to provide the means of attaining and maintaining a state of remission.
Treatment provided by Barth Clinic is delivered by highly trained professional addiction counselors under supervision of a medical director utilizing state of the art practices and procedures. Diagnostic statements are supported by American Psychiatric Association Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM-IV) criteria. Recommended treatment is guided by American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) placement, continuing stay and discharge criteria.
Barth Clinic is located at 414 North 2nd Street in the central area of downtown Yakima.
